Sierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison, Wisconsin, Durham, North Carolina, and Kennedy Space Center, Florida, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations.
Must-haves:
Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or relateddiscipline and typically 0-2 or more years of relevant experience
Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Conceptual knowledge ofengineering principles and practices
Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
Familiarity withworking in multi-disciplinary designand development teams
Preferred:
Familiarity with applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
Understanding ofEngineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis
Experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes
The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.
