Job Description

Summary: Designs commercial refrigerated merchandisers and display cases. Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of the designed case.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage product development projects of varying complexity from conception through the development phase and into production.
  • Play a leading role in vendor selection and agency approvals
  • Assist in initial production of products.
  • Oversee testing of new products.

Education:

Bachelor of Science - Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum of 1 year of design engineering experience is required.

Computer Skills:

Strong 3D CAD skills, preferably in Solid Edge

Qualifications:

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Need to have good analytical skills. Need to be able to organize data into summary form to justify courses of action, build baseline measures and track improvements. Need to have excellent problem-solving skills

Communication Skills:

Needs to work productively with all employees in the plant and with the Engineering Department.
