Job Summary:

UW Health, along with the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH), is seeking a Medical Director, UW Health Integrated Specialty Care for Women, on the CT or CHS Track.

Responsibilities:

The Medical Director will lead the effective delivery of women's specialty care through oversight of medical and surgical services and serve as the clinical champion for needs and research associated with this program at UW Health. They will be responsible for promoting evidenced based practice, effective care delivery models, patient centered programming and incorporation of clinical/translational research into women's health services.

This Medical Director will work in a triad leadership model partnering with the RN Director Ambulatory Operations and the Program Director of Integrated Specialty Care for Women. They will demonstrate proven success as a dynamic and empowering leader who possesses a positive attitude to instill a vision for excellence with innovation and creativity and is comfortable working in a complex environment where decision-making may be diffuse and ambiguous. The Medical Director will work in an interdisciplinary and cross-functionally manner with executives, operational and clinical staff & leaders across the organization to improve the delivery of optimum care throughout the integrated specialty care continuum for women at UW Health.

It is expected that the candidate will participate in teaching, clinical duties, and service as a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service appropriate to the faculty rank. The candidate will be expected to teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

If CHS Track: The successful applicant will participate in administrative, and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Education:

Required
Terminal Degree
MD or DO required

Qualifications:

Board certified with active medical license prior to start date. If practicing MD or DO, board certification in the candidate's area of practice and eligibility for Wisconsin medical licensure is required.

Five years of progressively responsible experience as a practicing physician. Leadership experience should include management of staff and multiple clinical functions. Must have prior experience with leading quality improvement in a clinical setting.

Preferred: MMM/MHA/MBA or equivalent. Work experience in a multi-hospital system or integrated delivery system, academic Medical Center experience, broad based knowledge in the full scope of Obstetrics/Gynecology services, best practices, leadership, and administration, strong preference for completion of an accredited OB/GYN Fellowship with BC in that subspecialty, additional experience in physician leadership roles.

For appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CHS Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS Track.

For appointment at Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor rank on CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CT Track.

Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 50% - 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
