The Food Service Assistant Advanced preps and serves food according to quality and safety standards to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve departmental food service goals.
Starting wage for Food Service Assistant Advanced is $17.50 per hour. We're also offering a $2,000 to $4,000 hiring bonus and significant night and weekend shift differentials. This position includes paid time off, free meal for every shift worked, state employee benefits and a $1,000 referral bonus for each person hired.

- 20% Performs routine food preparation activities such as portioning, chopping food, and serving food to customers
- 10% Assists and guides student workers
- 10% Prepares a variety of basic dishes such as sandwiches and salads, and assists in the preparation of more complex dishes
- 20% Greets customers, answers questions, and provides basic information regarding food preparation and associated activities
- 10% Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
- 15% Adheres to federal, state, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- 15% Coordinate and perform the set-up and clean-up of preparation, production, service areas, catering events, and equipment.
- Demonstrate and role model exceptional customer service.
- Interact with English speaking customers while displaying knowledge of food products, allergens, and food safety.
- Perform duties in a high-volume, dynamic, student residential dining environment.
- Provide support and assist as needed in the implementation of plans and procedures in the event of an emergency.

The primary schedule for this position typically consists of five, eight-hour shifts per week that may fall on any day of the week. Schedules may rotate every other weekend.
Operational and work schedules will be closely aligned with the services and customer needs of the unit. As a result, work schedules may be adjusted during specific times of the year, including summer and winter break hours.
Schedules will be determined at time of offer. Schedule alterations as operations and position expectations demand.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
