Job Description
Responsible for the safe and timely transportation of program participants to and from various locations within Rock & Walworth Counties. This team member must exercise independent judgment, initiative and flexibility.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Attendance/Punctuality:  Team member is on time and prepared for meeting with participants and stakeholders internal and external to the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Transport participants to and from locations in a safely and timely manner.
  • Clean and sanitize van weekly
  • Report all necessary repairs for the van promptly


Internal/External Relationships
  • Develops positive, meaningful, collaborative relationships with Community Action program participants and staff members.
  • Represents Community Action within appropriate community collaborations

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

NON ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Attend staff, department, agency and local community meetings as required.
  • Complete related work as assigned within the scope of responsibility and skill required for the job.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  
  • Must be 18 years of age

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to establish rapport and relate sensitively to a multiracial and multicultural individuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  ABOVE AGERAGE IN MATH.
  • Knowledge of basic math facts: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.  .

REASONING ABILITY: 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving situations which require decision-making skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and access to an insured motor vehicle, ability to drive company vehicles.
  • Must pass a driving record check completed by the WI Public Abstract Request System.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 
  • Must be extremely reliable and dependable. 
  • Must have strong interpersonal and customer relations skills, and must demonstrate good professional judgment, reliability and a commitment to cultural competency.

  • Requires some irregularity in hours due to responding to the program needs.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  The normal work environment is an interior office.
  • Exposed to all outdoor weather conditions
