Due to growth, we are adding this Administrator, Application Database to our It Department.

We are unable to offer remote work to residents of Alaska, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

The Application Database Administrator ensures efforts are in alignment with the Lumicera IT team to support customer-focused objectives and the IT Vision, a collaborative partner delivering innovative ideas, solutions, and services to simplify people's lives. The Application DBA/Data Integration Developer acts as a liaison, serving as primary point of contact between application business segments and database administrators, and will have a deep understanding of organization processes, and skilled knowledge of the applications design and implementation.

The Application DBA/Data Integration Developer must be able to create, update, configure, manage, and administer databases for current and future versions of SQL Server databases. The Application DBA must be able to work in a dynamic environment with stakeholders and team members to manage Server database software. The Application DBA/Data Integration Developer will have a background in data integration technologies and an understanding of database systems, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data warehousing concepts.

The Application DBA/Data Integration Developer will be 60% focused on Database Administration and Enhancements and 40% on ETL Development and management.

How do I make an impact on my team?

  • SQL skills with relational database experience
  • Hands-on/applied experience in database development/administration using SQL server: including performance monitoring, capacity and multi-site disaster planning, transaction workload balancing, performance tuning.
  • Responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of SQL server database instances.
  • Manage database availability, Tablespace management, Role management, maintain optimal Performance of the database.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and patch SQL Servers.
  • Manage SQL server databases, SQL databases and Managed Instances.
  • Writing optimized SQL queries for integration with other applications.
  • Extensive experience in creating and maintaining Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) procedures.
  • ETL integration with various APIs. Good understanding on API, JSON structure and Data parsing
  • Develop end user reports using reporting and business intelligence tools like Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Tableau
  • Follow the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), specifically Scrum and Agile methodology.

What our team expects from you?

  • Bachelors in computer science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline or equivalent Information Technology experience.
  • Must have 6+ years of experience in design and building complex SQL Server database T-SQL queries and maintaining database objects. (Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2017/2019)
  • Experience with performance tuning, stored procedures, triggers, and other SQL Server-related objects
  • Experience with a source control system (TFS/GIT)
  • Experience with Reporting (SSRS) and SSIS.
  • Good understanding of data and schema standards and concepts
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Database Projects in Visual Studio
  • Knowledge of SQL Server tools
  • Experience with importing and exporting large amounts of data.
  • Hands-on experience navigating AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms, including Redshift data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and data-driven tools.
  • 5+ years of recent professional experience in database architecture, database engineering, data analysis, data mining, and/or data science
  • Experience in creating, optimizing, and running Transact-SQL queries in Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with Synapse, reviewing GitHub scripts, JSON, Spark Notebooks, Data frame, ServiceNow, Kafka, PySpark and Python.
  • Experience working with healthcare data, preferably Electronic Health Record data.
  • An in-depth understanding of the terminologies, code sets, and standards of healthcare data
  • Experience in data migration to include data mapping and data profiling.
  • Experience with ETL and ELT pipelines
  • The ideal candidate would have experience with following tools/methodology/software: SQL Server DBMS; RMAN; VMWare snapshots; Pure Storage Cloning; Unix/Linux shell scripting; Perl Scripting; Commvault; SMS, SSRS, SSIS; Golden Gate on SQL Server; Automic; Informatica; Talend; AWS Glue
