Job Summary/Purpose:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to administrative duties supporting the Production Manager.

Incumbent will plan, direct, facilitate, and implement employee training for both current employees and new hires to raise the level of knowledge, skill, and ability.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support Operational team with administrative responsibilities.
  • Submit orders for supplies and keep inventory for the factory.
  • Suggests new solutions to production problems and ways to improve the efficiency of an operation.
  • Assists with planning and implementing training policies and procedures.
  • Document and maintain training files and documents.
  • Assists with development/implementation of position expectations and updating manuals and procedures as needed.
  • Coordinate weekly meetings with Leads to assess trainee progress.
  • Provides weekly update & scheduling of training to Leads, Supervisors, Managers, and Human Resources.
  • Development of best practices, implementation and auditing for continuous improvement.
  • Training tools may include checklists, visual observations, quizzes, performance appraisals, system walk through and other forms of documentation to ensure that employees are fully qualified.
  • Will coordinate all required safety training with Environmental Health and Safety Department.
  • Maintains employee training log and files.
  • Sets up and maintains training room facilities and equipment.
  • Participant of departmental or factory subcommittees.
  • Must be flexible to work any shift.

  • Coordinates outside vendor training.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma required; Associate Degree in business preferred or equivalent education and experience.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years production experience preferred, some basic knowledge of food safety.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team oriented fast-paced environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, presentation, problem solving and facilitation skills.
  • Incumbent must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Basic computer knowledge; Excel, Outlook, Word, math and designed inventory systems.

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Ability to use hands/arms to reach, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Ability to work in all areas of the facility including hot and cold areas, and be exposed to wet and humid conditions.
  • Ability to lift and or move up to 50 lbs or more.
  • Must have excellent vision, distant and peripheral, with the ability to identify and distinguish colors, and adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually high, and ear protection is required.
  • May work near moving mechanical parts, high and/or confining places and in outside weather conditions.
  • Must wear and observe applicable GMP's and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times while working.
