Job Summary

The Accounts Receivable Claims Specialist is expected to work independently and will be responsible for effectively researching, validating, and resolving customer claims from inception to completion. This includes filing initial disputes with customers when claims are confirmed to be invalid and pursuing cash recovery. The Claims Specialist will work closely with the Claims Analysts to identify specific customer trends and help identify root causes of deductions for prevention purposes.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review and process complex customer deductions from start to finish.
  • Process vouchers, invoice adjustments, and credit rebills to collect funds and clear AR balances.
  • Identify and share opportunities to improve and/or enhance processes and procedures.
  • Audit all claims processed offshore for validation and accuracy before resolution.
  • Research and pursue invalid claims with customers to facilitate repayment and increase profits.
  • Root cause analysis: interpreting customer behavior to prevent future deductions and share with analysts / leadership for next steps.
  • Research and resolve aged unclaimed credits on AR as part of our focused unclaimed property effort.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to assist our offshore team with their daily activities.
    • Provide ongoing training, guidance, mentoring, and collaboration.
    • Manage and direct offshore priorities to ensure timely deduction throughput and resolution.
    • Review offshore work to confirm it is being done accurately and effectively.
    • Approve offshore recommendations and resolve claims from AR.
  • Own and manage unique onshore portfolios along with the Claims Analysts.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external teams and customers.
  • Support projects and AR initiatives as assigned by leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Profile
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of relevant business experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong negotiation skills required to influence customers to issue payments for invalid claims.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Accomplished user of Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • SAP system experience highly desired
