SuccessWorks at the College of Letters & Science (L&S) prepares its undergraduates for life-long success through its programs, advising, and courses. SuccessWorks supports over 18,000 L&S students as they explore their interests and aspirations, engage in career exploration and development, and prepare for a career beyond UW-Madison. This position will teach and serve as the instructor of record for SuccessWorks career courses which currently include: Inter-LS 210 (Career Development, Taking Initiative), Inter-LS 215 (Communicating about Careers), and Inter-LS 260 (Internship) courses. The person in this exciting role will also actively collaborate and engage with members of the SuccessWorks department to build upon established career courses along with supporting other career education offerings led by SuccessWorks.
This role will have three main areas of responsibility in helping shape how students learn about career development: 1) designing and developing career courses content; 2) teaching the career courses and supervising TAs; and 3) administering course enrollments and supporting additional career learning offerings. The successful candidate is expected to be a skilled instructor with demonstrated dedication to student academic success, and to have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with diverse partners and stakeholders. Finally, the Career Education Instructor must have the ability to produce high-quality work while balancing multiple priorities, managing deadlines, and working independently as needed.

Master's Degree
Required:
--2 or more years experience in college-level instruction, including curriculum design, implementation and assessment, as demonstrated by a record of exceptional classroom instruction supporting academic achievement of students. This can include experience as a graduate teaching assistant, or similar work.
--Demonstrated ability to thrive in highly collaborative setting working on complex projects with diverse teams
--Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, written and oral communication skills
--Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work while balancing multiple priorities and managing deadlines
Preferred:
--Demonstrated commitments to social justice, equity, inclusion, diversity, asset-based perspectives, and evidence-based teaching practices.
--Experience supervising instructional staff, e.g. teaching assistants
--Familiarity with career development literature, resources, services, and theories
--Experience with facilitation of high-enrollment courses (>150 students)
--Familiarity with active learning methodology, flipped classrooms, discussion techniques and other current pedagogical best practices
