Covia is looking for a dynamic Maintenance Supervisor who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Portage, WI location. As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will supervise, schedule and direct maintenance personnel, coordinating with other supervisors to accomplish daily maintenance requirements for mobile equipment, stationary equipment, plant buildings and other facilities.

The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:

  • Set high standards for workplace safety.
  • Understand and enforce MSHA regulations and Covia's Corporate Safety & Health policies and procedures ensuring employees are properly trained and equipped to perform jobs in the safest manger.
  • Enforce high standards for plant housekeeping.
  • Direct responsibility for managing the plant maintenance function.
  • Requisition parts and supplies as necessary, working with purchasing to ensure that critical spares are on hand and maintenance tasks are performed with minimal interruptions.
  • Initiate programs to improve quality, eliminate waste, decrease costs and improve productivity and efficiency using continuous improvement philosophy and techniques.
  • Hands on supervision and scheduling of maintenance employees to meet the demands of the plant.
  • Responsible for timely completion of maintenance reporting requirements and equipment/maintenance records.
  • Distribute scheduled work orders to maintenance employees with oversight of maintenance jobs from start to finish assuring quality and timely repairs are made.

The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of related maintenance experience required.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & SharePoint.
