Job Description

We are currently seeking a Quality Technician to join our 3rd shift team! Work only 4 days per week, Monday through Thursday from 9 pm to 7 am.

General Plastics is a plastic thermoforming company that offers custom vacuum and pressure-forming services. We use a wide range of materials, from polycarbonate to polyethylene, and our services include forming and trimming large deep-drawn parts, precise and consistent dimensional trimming, rotary and single station forming, CNC routing, and various secondary operations. and numerous secondary operations.

Are you passionate about ensuring the highest quality standards in the plastics industry? We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our team. As a Quality Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of our plastic products and contributing to our organization's success.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting various quality checks and inspections throughout the production process to ensure that all products meet industry and customer specifications. You will work closely with the production team to identify and resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent future problems. Additionally, you will document all quality-related data and generate reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

To be successful in this role, you must have strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. You should be familiar with quality control principles and have experience using measurement tools and equipment. Additionally, you must possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with different teams and communicate quality standards to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular quality checks and inspections on plastic products to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Identify and document any non-conformities and work with the production team to implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to develop and implement quality control procedures and standards
  • Use various measurement tools and equipment, such as calipers and micrometers, to perform accurate measurements on products
  • Monitor and record data on quality performance metrics, such as defect rates and customer complaints
  • Generate reports and present findings to management and other stakeholders
  • Assist in training and coaching production staff on quality control processes and procedures

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a relevant field preferred
  • Proven experience in a quality control role within the plastics industry
  • Familiarity with quality control principles and practices
  • Proficient in using measurement tools and equipment, such as calipers and micrometers
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and solve quality issues effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to implement corrective actions
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
