The IT Project Manager is responsible for the management of projects including: working with project sponsors to create Project Charters, Project Management Plans, Project Communication Plans, Work Breakdown Structures, and other standard project management work products. The IT Project Manager will also help develop new project management templates as necessary. The IT Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle including facilitation and execution of the project plan as well as execution of the solution development lifecycle (SDLC). Additionally, the incumbent leads and directs cross-functional teams to deliver projects within the constraints of schedule, budget and scope. The IT Project Manager must demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to appropriately apply a methodology to projects that have reasonably well-defined project requirements and deliverables. The incumbent will make presentations to management as required and work closely with management on any special projects deemed critical for the success of Group Health Cooperative of South-Central Wisconsin (GHC-SCW). The IT Project Manager serves under the direction, guidance and supervision of the IT Manager.

JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in MIS or business-related field, or equivalent combination of education and business experience required.
  2. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience with project planning and management, including two (2) years of experience managing projects required. Minimum of one (1) year supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  3. Proven experience (Minimum 2 years) in technical project management, preferably in the IT industry. .
  4. Possession of Project Management Professional (PMP) certification by the Project Management Institute is highly preferred.
  5. CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+) or CompTIA A+ certification is preferred.
  6. Proven competency in project management. Ability to initiate and follow through on complex projects of both long term and short- term duration.
  7. Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to make informed decisions while considering a wide variety of conditions and situations.
  8. Knowledge of and ability to use project management software and related programs is required.
  9. Ability to maintain organizational and patient confidentiality. Knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
  10. Ability to be culturally sensitive and work with diverse populations.
  11. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Ability to make verbal presentations.
  12. Excellent organizational skills and ability to pay attention to detail.
  13. Ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization while providing excellent customer service required.
  14. Ability to work independently and be results oriented required.
  15. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and a commitment to meeting deadlines is required..
  16. Ability to work in a consultative approach with users in assessing needs and requirements.
  17. Ability to present ideas in user friendly language.
  18. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  19. Ability to work extra and/or flexible hours including occasional weekends required.
  20. Ability to travel to various work sites. Employee is expected to provide personal transportation. Possession of a valid, Wisconsin driver license if the employee is operating a motor vehicle.
  21. Ability to stay current on, and adapt to, rapidly changing technology and business processes.
  22. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  23. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
