With the ultimate goal of creating a world-class warehousing process; the Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for building and sustaining a warehouse operation that achieves the mission of providing internal and external clients with the materials and products they require in a timely and accurate manner. To this extent, the manager will work to build, improve, and automate a process that focus on daily productivity, inventory accuracy, timely delivery of materials to the Production cells, accurate receipt of materials, and the fast and accurate shipment of products. This role will require extensive collaboration with internal and external partners - using relationships built upon follow through, subject matter expertise, and trust. These goals will be achieved through personal oversight and motivation of all warehouse staff assigned to Receiving, Inventory, Material Handling, and Shipping.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement best in class component, material and finished goods storage organization and flow
  • Drive operational efficiency with a focus on quality and elimination of error potential
  • Drive process and system improvements and develop Lean processes that optimize the material flow, inventory efficiencies and inventory management objectives
  • Physical inventory, cycle counts and internal audits
  • Identify root cause and drive solutions to items that impact these metrics
  • Conduct reconciliation between stock and ERP / MRP database records as necessary to mitigate large or negatively impactful adjustments
  • Communicate and coordinate with other departments to assure that the company's inventory goals and objectives are met and smooth material flow is facilitated
  • Use sound judgment and proper documentation whenever adjusting inventory amounts, while informing management of large, impactful adjustments
  • Utilize process/systems for the daily execution of planned activities and administration
  • Report on and resolve material support concerns daily
  • Ensure materials are received by Logistics staff and made available to meet daily production schedules
  • Ensure products are shipped as per sales order schedules by the Logistics staff working closely with the Customer Service and Planning departments
  • Coordinate and maintain all shipping services and functions and take point on all shipping issues
  • Act as the primary representative for the company's needs to the carrier representatives to facilitate the inbound and outbound shipments
  • Ensure quality of shipping in regards to correct product, counts, documents and routing per sales order and customer requirements with goal of zero defects in outbound quality escapes in these areas

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or an equivalent experience.
  • Ten years of experience working in manufacturing warehouses, with a preference for electronics manufacturing
  • Four years managing and developing staff
  • Proven comprehensive understanding of all aspects of a manufacturing organization to include a thorough understanding of warehouse related policies and procedures, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Proven track record of project management, team leadership, problem solving, risk mitigation and budget adherence for multiple programs
  • Experience with electronic shipping software such as UPS, FedEx and DHL, and shipping automation tools and ERP systems (JDE preferred)
  • To conform with U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government.
  • Willingness to travel 5% of the time
  • Preferred - A Six Sigma Green-Belt certification with a proven knowledge of statistical analysis and understanding of process capability metrics.
