Key Details:

  • Salary: $49,920 - $62,400, DOE
  • Location: Remote, US

Job Summary:

  • Develops, reviews, and provides support for R programs following standard coding styles
  • Coordinate with appropriate personnel to promote best practices for data standardization and integrity
  • Assisting with development of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
  • Responsible for versioning and change management of code, including Gitlab or SVN
  • Manipulates wildlife and environmental data; creates graphs and tables.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, computer science, information technology, natural resources, wildlife management, wildlife biology or equivalent degree preferred
  • Demonstrated interest in working with wildlife, environmental, renewable energy, statistical or mathematical data and databases
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating system, MS Word, and MS Excel
  • Strong proficiency in the R language; an excellent candidate would have expertise in R packages, R functions, and OOP structures in R and understand standard software development principles, such as SRP.
  • Preference for those with experience with advanced R topics such as functional and/or Object-Oriented Programming design patterns, R package creation, and error handling/debugging.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of code
  • Highly developed ability to stay focused and pay attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Capable of appearing for work on time; following instructions from managers; interacting effectively with coworkers and clients; maintaining a positive attitude; accepting guidance and constructive criticism.
  • Experience with MS Access, MSSQL, PostGreSQL, MySQL, or other database applications, and query language SQL is preferred.
  • Understanding of database design concepts is preferred.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods preferred.
  • Experience with programming, logic, and data modeling principles
  • Knowledge of other programming languages such as Python, C#, and/or HTML, CSS, JavaScript preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for long periods of time
