Central Garden & Pet Dog & Cat Segment is searching for a Chewy Business Development Manager with 5+ years' experience in our Neptune City, NJ facility. In office preferred, remote possible.
This role will sit on the Digital Marketing and E-Commerce Team, overseeing E-Commerce Sales related activities for Chewy including overall customer management inclusive of strategy, gross and net sales, assortment, terms, contra investments, promotional planning and performance analysis, budget planning, site optimizations and associated KPIs for Nylabone, Four Paws, Cadet, Best Bully Sticks and Barkworthies brands.
The ideal candidate is an E-Commerce expert with e-retail experience on both the brand side and buying side with Chewy directly. This person is highly analytical, well versed in E-Commerce trends and tools. They think big, multi-task, work smart, organized, detailed, innovative, and are entrepreneurial.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage Chewy.com customer channel, including consumer experience, assortment, reporting, competitive landscape, terms, merchandising/marketing investments, and growth strategy.
  • Manage all reporting of e-commerce financials, provide insights and learnings to the leadership team monthly.
  • Identify opportunities and mitigate threats for business, develop action plans to support sustainable/profitable growth.
  • Work cross-functionally with Inventory Planning, Creative, Content, PIM team, Sales, Brand Marketing and DigiComm to launch innovation, support brand goals, and forecast business.
  • Own promotional activities inclusive of planning, launch, post-event analysis of spend, ROI and analysis.
  • Own new item launches and corresponding marketing/merchandising initiatives, ensuring clear, full execution.
  • Own pricing impact, fill rates, out of stocks and coordinate with inventory management to minimize lost sales.
  • Lead terms negotiations, determining brand acceptable parameters, calculating impact, and optimizing working spend.
  • Support search investments- help set benchmarks, strategy, and analysis for continuous improvements.
  • Lead Private Label efforts, managing internal cross-functional as well as customer facing communication.
  • Develop strategic and innovative thinking about improving business in a very complex and competitive marketplace.
  • Partner cross-functionally with digital marketing, copy, creative, brand marketing, inventory management, forecasting, sales, reputation management, and other teams to provide visibility, transparency, and efficiency with project work.
  • Own catalog and content, regularly scraping to ensure all content is current and optimized.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years e-commerce experience at brand managing Chewy.com or direct Chewy.com experience.
  • Deep understanding of "How to Win" in the Chewy.com environment.
  • Highly analytical, ability to independently analyze, identify trends and develop strategies to deliver growth.
  • Knowledge of E-Commerce space, overall trends, and technology to support.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to decipher and communicate value.
  • Ability to independently learn new tools and technology, with first mover application to support the business.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with strong communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment in a highly visible role.
